In our previous article, we discussed how Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) Management Systems helps businesses find out their meter of productivity as well as the well being of their equipment. Our partner, Advantech, is a Taiwanese IT company focusing on the AIDC field. Founded in 1983, Advantech is a leader in providing trusted, innovative products, services, and solutions. Advantech offers comprehensive system integration, hardware, software, customer-centric design services, embedded systems, automation products, and global logistics support. For Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), Advantech is able to provide their sensors that can note company productivity through the product’s speed, quality, and lack of unplanned downtime. One example of this product is the WISE-2410 seen below.
Advantech - WISE-2410 LoRaWAN Wireless Sensor
Advantech WISE-2410 is a LoRaWAN wireless conditional monitoring sensor integrated with ARM Cortex-M4 Processor, LoRa transceiver, 3-axis accelerometer and temperature sensor. Battery life cycle is 2 years with IP66 enclosure. These sensors are able to balance the wireless bandwidth between the WISE-2410 and the opposing gateway, it also reduces and completely removes the rate of data transmission failures between both ends. The WISE-2410 sensor uses a far-reaching star network system, which features a data relay between the sensors and the processing application server. The wireless sensor is also able to calculate far more complex eigenvalues itself, similar to VRMS, ARMS, peak, Kurtosis, crest factor, skewness, and standard deviation values. A detailed list of specifications can be seen below:
Built-in 3-axis accelerometer and temperature sensor
Computing total 8 vibration characteristic values on board
Compliant with ISO 10816
IP66 with battery-powered, no wiring installation needed
Easy setting with user friendly interfaces on WISE Studio
Support wide temperature -20 ~ 85 °C
Radio Equipment Directive (RED) Compliance
Low-Power Wide-Area Network (LoRaWAN) wireless connectivity
Wireless sensor functions at 20dBm transmit power and -148dB sensitivity
Advantech - Wise-3620 IoT Wireless WiFi Network Gateway
WISE-3620 is a Qualcomm ARM Cortex A-based platform and is operating at OpenWRT, which is described as a Linux distribution system for embedded devices. The Advantech WISE-3620 Industrial Router is an IoT gateway design made for a smart city, Industry 4.0 applications, and even those in harsher environments by using wireless technology. Our IoT gateway can merge both wireless sensor networks (WSN) (such as 802.11AC MU-MIMO Technology) and wired sensors, while tying them into an IP network. Through its modular slot design, the WISE-3620 can speedily adapt to various types of wireless technologies at regional RF bands and wireless communication protocol. A detailed list of specifications can be seen below:
Qualcomm Atheros Quad-Core ARM Cortex-A7 SoC
Built-in Dual Band Concurrent Wi-Fi MU-MIMO (2x2)
WAN x1 / LAN x1 Gigabit Ethernet
Integration of Modbus TCP and Modbus RTU networks
IPSec / L2TP VPN Traffic Encryption
Rich Network Scanrio by S/W Configuration
Modularization hardware design
OpenWRT BSP embedded
Web UI user interface
